Logic Gates

The Gate is a digital component that is used to compute an output for certain inputs, the inputs and outputs have two states high-1  and low- 0. Let us assume high is 5V and low is 0V (like in CMOS). On a high level the LED will light up and on a low level the LED is off. Now let us see what Logic means.

NOT gate.

This gate inverts the input and places the inverted value at the output, If you apply a 1 at the input the output will be 0 which is the reverse of 1, and vice versa.

The output is the opposite of the input, this gate plays a very important role in digital logic circuits. The TTL chip is 7404 and the CMOS chip to be used is 4049.
